"The Musician's Organizer"
This program features a "user-friendly" interface with drop-down ì
menus, and a help (status) line at the bottom of the screen. This ì
on-line documentation has been provided as a convenient quick ì
reference. If you have not already done so, read the README.DOC and ì
ORDER.DOC files.
TITLE SCREEN
The initial screen can be bypassed only after 5 seconds, by ì
pressing any key. The start-up screen is not present in the ì
registered version. The program title screen may be bypassed at any ì
time by pressing any key after starting the program. Should ì
database or index files become deleted, new files will be created ì
after the title screen is presented.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SONG LIST
The song list module is used to maintain the songs which a group ì
can perform (or is in DJ's library).
1) View songs
Allows one to scroll through the entire song database. The song ì
title column will be fixed in place as you scroll through the data ì
with the right and left arrow keys.
2) Add songs
Used for entering new songs. The information requested is shown as ì
follows:
TITLE - Title of the song.
ARTIST - Recording group.
STYLE - Style to categorize the song by. New style categories may ì
be added in the [Tools & Defaults] module.
TIME - Length of time for performing this song.
FREQUENCY - A number from 1 to 5 (1 most often) assigned to the song ì
for the frequency (how often) this number will be played.
DINNER - Determines if this song would normally be considered for a ì
dinner set.
BAND SINGER/[MEDIA] - Band Singer: Band member who would be ì
considered the lead singer for this song. Media: Recorded media ì
such as LP, CD, etc. Singers and media may be added under the ì
[Tools & Defaults] module.
3) Edit songs
Used to modify songs currently in the song database.
4) Delete songs
Delete songs from the song database. Deleted songs that have been ì
used in remaining set sheets, will be shown as " *** This title ì
deleted *** " in the set sheet.
5) Print song list
Prints sorted song lists to printer or text file.
--------------------------------------------------------------------ì
SET SHEET
This module allows the construction of set sheets for ì
engagements. The songs for each set are either selected from the ì
song list database, or from a previously defined (custom) set.
1) Make new sheet
Used for creating a new set sheet. A set sheet consists of from 1 ì
to 5 sets and an optional special request set.
2) Load existing sheet
Load a set sheet which was previously created.
3) Edit sheet
Edit a set sheet which has been loaded. Songs can be either ì
inserted or deleted into any of the sets.
4) Save sheet as ...
Rename the currently loaded set sheet. The original sheet will be ì
retained under its' original name.
5) Delete sheet
Delete set sheets permanently. A currently loaded set sheet can not ì
be deleted until it has been unselected.
6) Unselect sheet
Unselect the currently loaded set sheet.
7) Print sheet
Print the currently loaded set sheet to a printer or text file.
8) Custom sets
Allows the creation and maintenance of "fixed" sets which contain ì
songs that are usually performed in the same sequence. Custom sets ì
are useful when creating set sheets that need a "standard" set which ì
is played often (ie. Dinner set, Oldies set). This shareware ì
version supports the creation of two custom sets at one time. To ì
make more, you must first delete an existing one, if two already ì
exist. Be sure that the Automatic Packing feature under [TOOLS & ì
DEFAULTS -> Change Defaults] is set to "Y". If it is not, the ì
custom set will only be marked for deletion. The registered version ì
supports an unlimited number of custom sets.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SCHEDULE
The schedule section allows one to maintain engagement schedules ì
and create contracts.
1) Add jobs
Add new performance dates. A previously created set sheet title can ì
be attached to the job information for later reference. A memo can ì
also be added for notes, such as directions, or music that works ì
well with this crowd.
2) Edit jobs
Edit the job information as contracts are sent and received.
3) Delete jobs
Delete jobs from the job database.
4) View schedule
Presents a calendar initially in the current month. The current ì
date is highlighted. Directions are given on the screen for moving ì
forwards or backwards in months or years. Pressing Function Key 9 ì
(F9) will scan the current month for job dates if the Automatic Scan ì
option is disabled. The starting time of the engagement will be ì
displayed for each job. If more than two jobs are scheduled for the ì
same date, a "+" will indicate this condition.
5) Print schedule
Print a schedule of the jobs within a specified date range on a ì
printer or to a text file.
6) Edit contract
Allows editing of any of 9 contracts to be used with the job ì
database to produce contracts, if needed for the engagements. An ì
editor allows one to simply type a template for the [Print contract] ì
section to use. Directions are provided on screen. A list of ì
substitution codes can be accessed by pressing Function Key 1 (F1) ì
while editing the contract. By including these codes in the ì
contract, the [Print contract] section will place the corresponding ì
data from the selected job into the codes. Two sample contracts ì
have been provided as examples.
List of the substitution codes:
